Canoe expedition to help children and donkeys
The Oxford to Kingston Upon Thames (O2K) challenge, a 93 mile canoe expedition, has been arranged to help raise funds for the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST).
Cliff Matsuya, organiser the event, and leader of the eight-strong team of volunteers, says: "We've been training for several weeks and can paddle at an average speed of 3.5 miles an hour, so we are sure that we will complete the journey in about five days."
Amanda Gordon, Public Relations Assistant from the EST head-quarters based in Devon says: "We really do appreciate all the hard work and training that the team has put into the event. We would like to wish the team best of luck and hope they have great fun camping along the various stages of the river Thames."
Any proceeds collected from the event will be split equally between EST and The British Heart Foundation.
