Snow donkeys
Posted 8th January 2010 by Chris PhillipsWith the fields, roads and trees all around covered in snow, I decided to take a walk and see how the EST Sidmouth donkeys were coping with the beautiful, but very chilly weather we are having.
As soon as I arrived at their stables, I could see the donkeys had been prepared for the large drop in temperature. There were heat lamps set up inside their stables and the donkeys that were more sensitive to the cold had been equipped with specially designed rugs to keep them warm.

It shows Winston greeting a visiting horse from The West Yorkshire Police Mounted Section. Do you have any suggestions as to what they might be saying to each other? The Lee Pearson Day was held to celebrate British Paralympian Lee Pearson CBE becoming an official patron for our charity.
Tojo and the vanishing flowers
Posted 25th November 2009 by Chris PhillipsIt was a typical rainy English afternoon when Jan the Outreach driver, myself and Tojo the donkey went to visit a residential home in Exeter, Devon. Being that it was my first Outreach visit observation I was excited, but also quite intrigued as to how it all worked. A donkey being taken inside a nursing home to visit the residents, sounded like an interesting and unusual concept.
I’ve got that levelling feeling
Posted 16th October 2009 by Chris PhillipsAfter my first visit to The Slade Centre, Sidmouth in my new role as Fundraising Assistant and PR Assistant, I thought I would try to enlighten everyone as I have been enlightened by my very enjoyable and eye-opening experience.
Greeted by a lot of smiles, I entered to find a very warm and welcoming environment. Being an observer for the afternoon, I placed myself on the sidelines, not quite knowing what to expect.
