Jennie training to run the London Marathon for EST
Jennie Jepperson from Sidmouth, Devon, will be taking part in the 2012 London Marathon to raise funds for EST.
Jennie has been working as a centre co-ordinator at the Sidmouth EST centre for over two years and in that time has witnessed thousands of children receiving the benefits of riding therapy. Although Jennie is a keen runner, this will be her first marathon and she has been training hard for the event, knowing how many children will benefit from the funds that she raises.
Jennie says: “I love meeting the children who come to our centre and have seen for myself how much they get out of their riding sessions. I’ve been training hard for the marathon over the last few months and even though it’s a huge challenge I’m really looking forward to the big day. I have a fundraising target of £1,500 which will help EST to give over 45 therapy sessions to our amazing children.”
To help Jennie reach her target, visit http://www.justgiving.com/jenniejepperson or text JJLM88 to 70070 followed by the amount you wish to donate.
EST provides donkey riding therapy sessions to children in Belfast, Birmingham, Ivybridge, Leeds, Manchester and Sidmouth. Each centre is visited by over 150 children with special needs and disabilities per week for therapeutic riding sessions. The charity also provides outreach visits with donkeys to residents of nursing homes, hospices and care homes.
