The Music of the Night
This month has certainly been a busy one for me; I have been working on my star profile. I was asked to perform on stage at Plymouth's Music of the Night - of course I agreed.
The show ran for seven nights. Hard work I know, but worth all the extra fuss and attention from the grooms and cast. As the star of ‘Joseph’, I did have some demands - the EST van was to be transformed into my dressing room, including my leather show bridle, hoof oil, coat shine and a generous supply of ginger biscuits (NOT for the grooms).
When entering the stage it was time to act professionally. The spotlights followed me as I walked to and fro across the stage, in front of a few thousand people. Dancers were floating around me - I tried to get their attention by grabbing their arms as they passed, but the grooms said no!! I can’t understand why.
I had an amazing time. When it was time to leave, I proudly walked off stage right. I made my way through the fake smoke, giving my new fans one last glance over my shoulder with a big grin. The applaud said it all.
After each performance my crew would take me home, back to Ivybridge. With a mouthful of ginger biscuits, I strolled back into the barn. The other donkeys gathered round to hear about my adventures - jealous, I’m sure.
Next time, hear how I get on at Yealmpton and Totnes Show on 30th July.

Boomer and co.
The centre at Ivybridge do a fantastic job with donkeys and children alike. I'm a volunteer there and have so much fun with Boomer and co as well as the children. If you're around Ivybridge and have time to spare then why not drop in and say hello to everyone. You will be made most welcome by all the staff and donks of course!
