Helping children like James
James has been visiting EST Birmingham since he was six months old, attending each week and for holiday clubs which are held during school holidays. James has Erbs Palsy in his right arm, which is a condition caused by birth trauma affecting the nerves which supply movement and feeling to the arm. James is unable to extend his right arm any further than his head.
James' mum, Charlotte, says "James loves attending the Centre as he has something to look forward to on a weekly basis. I see real improvement in the movement of his arm after the sessions, he seems to be able to stretch and rotate his arm much easier".
She adds, "EST has provided my son with an enjoyable exercise for his arm, also for me to have the chance to speak to other parents, normally with children with more physical and mental disabilities which make me feel very humble".
James also attends the Saturday and Holiday Clubs which are held at the Centre, his Grandparents have also been able to come along to see him ride so it really is an occasion for all the family. James' family also attend the many special events which are put on at the Centre such as the Christmas Fair.
