Let me introduce myself

Alvis

My name is Alvis and I live at the EST Centre in Birmingham. I have been reading all about the antics of Boomer and thought you might like to know what I get up to during the week.

As well as giving rides to lots of special needs children who visit the Centre I am also lucky enough to be one of the donkeys who visits care and residential homes. It is really good fun as I get loads of attention and fuss from all the residents and the staff. Some of them try to give me a sneaky biscuit which I am not supposed to have, but unfortunately the members of staff who come with me are too quick and notice. I think it is good for the residents as well and they all tell me about the times they remember riding donkeys on the beach or donkeys they used to feed who lived up the road.

During the summer months I get to go to some events with another donkey and those are great fun. I get so many people coming up to the stand to see us and stroke us. I do have to say that eventually I want some time to myself so stand in the middle of the pen where they can't reach me or I may even have a lie down in the sun.

Anyway, I have to go and join my friends who are all grazing in the fields. See you all soon.
