The big shave...

Last week I visited Stones Solicitors because employees Alex Blest, Tom Sampford and Leigh Barry selflessly volunteered to publicly have their beards removed to raise funds for EST Sidmouth.

The big shave took place at their Exeter office on Friday 11th December 2009. When I arrived the three generous men were looking decidedly nervous, especially Leigh who has had his beard for 32 years!

Sara from Head Quarters Hair Salon kindly offered her services and the men had their beards removed professionally, followed by a wet shave. When the three shavees came back from their razor experience, which was a novelty for them as they have had their beards for many years, Sara exclaimed “I’d love to see your wives and girlfriends faces when they see you without beards!”

The idea for the big shave came from trainee solicitor Nikkie Janus-Harris who has been involved with EST for a number of years. The Stones Team also did a cake bake and a dress down day and raised an astounding total of £700 towards Christmas presents for the children with special needs and disabilities who attend the Sidmouth Centre.
