Secret millionaire to visit donkey riding charity centre

On Friday 22nd January from 11am Carl Hopkins, who recently starred in Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire, will be making a special visit to a donkey riding charity for children with special needs in Eccup, Leeds.

Carl is hoping his visit will help promote the PartiesAroundtheWorld.co.uk (PAW) website which has recently named The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys as its final charity cause.

Carl launched the website earlier this year with Deirdre Bounds (founder of PAW) which raises money for charity through children’s birthday parties. Guests who choose the ‘Adorable Donkeys’ party package will be helping EST provide unique donkey-riding therapy to thousands of children with special needs and disabilities at purpose built centres located around the country.

Both Carl and Deirdre are visiting the EST Leeds Centre on Friday to have their photos taken with some of the donkeys, followed by a tour of the centre and a moment to observe children enjoying a riding therapy session.

Paula Godfree, EST’s regional fundraising assistant, says: “We are delighted to have been chosen by PAW as their 12th charity and are looking forward to seeing Carl and Deirdre on Friday. This is a unique online gift-giving facility which allows guests at children’s birthday parties to make donations towards a charity instead of buying material gifts. Anyone who chooses our Adorable Donkeys package will help raise vital funds for our centres, which rely entirely on donations and legacies.”
