Daniel P is taking life a bit easier!

After many years as a riding therapy donkey, we have decided to retire Daniel P. Daniel first joined the Slade Centre team in 1994, two years after being relinquished into the care of our sister charity, The Donkey Sanctuary. He has worked as a riding therapy donkey ever since and as he reaches 21, we feel that it is about time he started taking life a bit easier!

Daniel has given rides to many children with special needs and disabilities over the years and is a real gentle giant, being the tallest but also one of the quietest riding donkeys. He has helped many nervous children to overcome their fears and brought happiness to many people, including his adoption supporters. Although Daniel will no longer be available to new adoptees, people will be offered the opportunity to renew their adoption and continue to support him for another year, into his well-earned retirement!

In September 2010 we will be inviting supporters to join him at his very own retirement party!

Daniel will always remain at The Donkey Sanctuary but will continue to reside with his adoption donkey friends at Beach Boxes 5 and 6 throughout the summer months. You may just see him with an extra smile on his face as he looks forward to his extended summer holiday and a very well deserved break!
