A donkey riding therapy charity based in Eccup desperately needs the local community to donate goods to sell at their Summer Fair on Sunday 25th July 2010.

The Leeds Centre of The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, are appealing for you to donate as many soft toys as possible, bottles for the bottle stall, tombola items and books to help make their annual summer fair a success. Funds raised will go towards providing a free service for special needs children in the area.

170 children visit the centre each week and centre manager Cathryn Williams says:” Riding therapy is very special and we use donkeys because of their placid natures. Last year we provided over 5,000 riding sessions free of charge, and we were able to do so, because of our supporters who we are very grateful to. We will be holding our Summer Fair to raise funds so that we can continue to help children with special needs in the local area. So if you can donate any unwanted goods we would be most appreciative of your support.”

If you can help, the staff at the centre would be delighted to hear from you. You can telephone them on 0113 2619249 or call into the centre which is situated on Swan Lane, off Black Hill Lane, Eccup.

The Summer Fair will be open from 11am until 4pm on Sunday 25th July. There will be many attractions including the West Yorkshire Police Dog Display Team, Go Karts, Fun Family Dog Show, Bouncy Castle, Adopt a Donkey, Refreshments and much more! Admission and parking is free.
