What a Fantastic Summer Fair!
On Sunday 25 July 2010, EST Leeds held their Summer Fair which was extremely well supported. With over 40 trade stands, children's attractions, arena displays and delicious food and drink, visitors had plenty to keep them entertained. We were delighted to have Carl Hopkins and Deirdre Bounds, two of Yorkshire's leading entrepreneurs to open the Fair.
Horse stunt rider, Jo O'Dell, wowed crowds with her dare devil trick-riding on her horses, Tino and Azkaban, and our very own donkeys and special children provided two demonstrations of riding therapy in the main arena.
We are extremely lucky to have such great support from local companies. Cranswick Convenience Foods generously provided all the meat for our barbecue for the second year running. Event Equipment Hire provided a large marquee for the second year and Generation Hire supplied the fencing for our main arena for the third year in a row.
And then there are all the wonderful volunteers who give up their time to help not only on the day but in the days before to help prepare for the event and afterwards to take everything down and tidy up! Thank you all so much - we couldn't do it without you!
A huge thank you must go to everyone, members of the public and tradestand holders who attended the event and to those who provided books, bric a brac, tombola items and all the companies that supported EST by giving such amazing raffle prizes.
We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we would like to thank you for helping raise the fantastic amount of £17,000 which equated to £15,000 profit. This money will be used to help EST Leeds continue to provide riding therapy for 600 children a month.
