Meet donkeys at Vue cinema in Plymouth this weekend!

Two donkeys from a Devon donkey-riding therapy charity will be greeting filmgoers of the new Shrek Forever After movie this Saturday (3rd July 2010) at the Vue cinema in Plymouth (at the Barbican Leisure Park) between 10am and 4pm.

Boomer and Wayne, from the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) centre at Filham Park in Ivybridge, will be in a pen just outside the cinema entrance for all to see, either before or after the films are shown. Their attendance will help promote the charity’s good work throughout Ivybridge, Plymouth and the South Hams.

The Parents & Friends Association at the Ivybridge centre of the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust (EST) is organising the evening of fun and do-si-dos to raise funds for a new sensory garden planned for the centre.

Alongside the dancing, there will be live music with a caller, and a BBQ and bar to keep dancers refreshed. Tickets cost £6.00 each and can be purchased by contacting the centre on (01752) 690200.

Greenhouse grand opening at donkey riding therapy charity

A donkey-riding centre for children with special needs based in Ivybridge has announced the grand opening of its new greenhouse by students of a Plymouth school on Thursday 11th March at 2pm. The greenhouse has been bought using funds raised by its Parents and Friends Association (PFA).

Two donkeys from a children’s riding therapy centre in Ivybridge will be in Plymouth City Centre on Friday 29th January to promote its 'Adopt-a-Donkey' scheme for Valentine's Day, helping to raise vital funds for its cause.

A donkey-riding centre for children with special needs is inviting local people to support its Christmas Fair on Saturday 12th December from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Admission is free and festive refreshments, seasonal gifts, Adopt a Donkey and various stalls will be available to help raise funds for The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST).

Children will be able to have a donkey cart ride to meet Santa in his grotto and receive a Christmas gift while adults can browse around the stalls and enjoy Christmas carols performed by Cornwood and Stowford Primary School.

A donkey-riding centre for children with special needs in Ivybridge is hosting a special carol service on Wednesday 9th December from 6.00pm to 7.30pm.

The service will be led by Chris Osbourne, Vicar of St John’s Church, and Stowford Primary School choir will be performing traditional Christmas carols and taking part in a Nativity scene to help celebrate the season and raise funds for The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) Centre.
