Amateur cooks are invited to submit their culinary creations to a Cake Baking Competition being held in Sutton Park on Saturday 28th April.
With the popularity of baking on the rise, this fundraising event offers the perfect opportunity to display traditional and new creative skills while raising funds for children with additional needs. The event is being organised by The Donkey Sanctuary who provide riding therapy with donkeys to around 180 children from across Birmingham each week.
The Cake Baking Competition has five categories:
• Cupcakes and muffins
• Sponge Cake
EST Birmingham is holding a Summer Fair on Saturday 16th July from 11am until 3.30pm with free admission and plenty of fun for the whole family.
The Sutton Park centre is hosting its annual Summer Fair which promises to be a fun-packed day for all. Activities available include traditional country fete games, South Staffs Dog Display team, tombola, Adopt A Donkey, a BBQ and much more! Admission and parking is free.
A Birmingham charity which provides donkey riding therapy for children with special needs and disabilities in Sutton Park needs keen walkers to take part in a sponsored walk on Saturday 26th March at 11.30am.
The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) is organising the walk through Sutton Park to raise funds for its Birmingham centre. The walk will be along a flat, five mile track but there are options for shorter routes making the walk ideal for youngsters, wheelchair users, pushchairs and the whole family.
EST Birmingham's PFA are holding a quiz night at the Park House pub and restaurant on Friday 18th March 2011 from 7.30pm and are looking for keen quizzers to come along and join in the fun.
Sue Brennan, manager of EST Birmingham says: “We’re all dusting off our thinking caps and looking forward to the quiz night which is sure to be huge fun for people of all ages. With a wide range of questions on sport, music, world events and general knowledge; everyone has a chance of winning the top prize of £50.”
Children from Great Barr’s Ferndale Primary School are looking forward to joining the Accord Singers for a very special evening of music and fun on Saturday 23rd October from 7.00pm to raise money for EST Birmingham.
The singing groups will be raising the roof at Ferndale Primary School with a variety of show tunes and traditional music in aid of EST Birmingham's planned Sensory Garden.
The Parents & Friends Association (PFA) at Birmingham EST is holding a car boot sale on Sunday 19th September from 8.30am to 1.30pm in Sutton Park to raise much-needed funds for the centre.
There will be refreshments available, and admission and parking is free for buyers. Sellers will be charged at £7.00 per car, and vans or cars with trailers will be £8.00 each.
