Three members of staff from Raine & Horne Estate Agents, Crossgates, were visited by donkeys from The Donkey Sanctuary’s Leeds centre to receive a donation cheque of £100.

Ann Riddington, Mandy Driver & Clive Smith (Raine & Horne) presented their donation cheque to donkeys Eli & Tinker.

On Saturday 14th April 2012, EST Leeds held their Spring Fair. Over 350 visitors went along as well as over 90 children completing a donkey obstacle course in the indoor area. This consisted of Chicken on a Spoon, Rings round slalom poles, riding through straw bales and throwing a ball into a net. All the children received an Easter Egg after they dismounted.

We had many stalls at the fair, one selling delicious cakes (which were home baked by our wonderful cook Lynne), a Lucky Bag stall , Toy Stall, Adopt a Donkey Stall.

The Bible reports that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey on Palm Sunday (which falls on 1st April this year), and each year international animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary is asked to illustrate that link by taking donkeys to church.

Families are invited to take part in a Spring Fair being held by international animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary on Saturday 14th April from 10am-2pm to help raise funds for its Leeds donkey assisted therapy centre.

The centre in Eccup is hosting a day of family fun which includes stalls, refreshments and the chance for children to take part in a donkey obstacle course.

EST Leeds is delighted to announce the winner of the Valentine Adoption promotion draw. All who adopted a donkey at the centre between 29th January and 29th February were entered into a draw to win a Valentine’s hamper, including wine and chocolates.

The winner is Mrs Gulley from Menston who has adopted gorgeous donkey William.

Congratulations and thank you to all who entered the draw and helped raise funds for the centre.

Following the precautionary closing of EST Leeds, the centre is delighted to be re-opening on Sunday 16th October for an Open Sunday session between 9am and 12pm (please phone the centre on 0113 2619249 to book an appointment).

From Monday 17th October the centre will be back to normal opening times.
