Ivybridge

Officially opened on Friday 29th June 2007, we are situated in Filham Park, an established popular amenity for the local community in Ivybridge. Set in the beautiful Devon countryside, our centre is easily accessible, enabling us to provide donkey riding therapy for special needs children throughout the south-west areas of the country.

Around 150 children with special needs and disabilities from 30 local schools in the city and surrounding areas benefit from donkey riding therapy at this Centre each week.

Meet donkeys at Vue cinema in Plymouth this weekend!

Wayne

Two donkeys from a Devon donkey-riding therapy charity will be greeting filmgoers of the new Shrek Forever After movie this Saturday (3rd July 2010) at the Vue cinema in Plymouth (at the Barbican Leisure Park) between 10am and 4pm.

Boomer and Wayne, from the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) centre at Filham Park in Ivybridge, will be in a pen just outside the cinema entrance for all to see, either before or after the films are shown. Their attendance will help promote the charity’s good work throughout Ivybridge, Plymouth and the South Hams.

Ivybridge EST celebrates National Volunteers' Week

On Wednesday 2nd June, EST Ivybridge will be recognising its dedicated team of volunteers as part of National Volunteers’ Week (1st – 7th June).

Staff will be holding a BBQ on Wednesday evening to thank its team of over 70 volunteers who assist in providing donkey riding therapy and in visiting 119 local nursing homes to provide pet therapy to residents. The volunteers will also be able to test their skills in traditional games such as horseshoe pitching and roll-a-ball.
