EST Leeds is situated on the outskirts of the city in the beautiful area of Eccup. It was officially opened on Tuesday 29th September 1999 by Dame Thora Hird, who has sadly passed away since, and in the company of Councillor Denise Atkinson.
Between 130 and 150 children with special needs and disabilities from 20 local schools in the city and surrounding areas benefit from donkey riding therapy at this centre each week.
Children's donkey riding centre hosting Christmas carol concert
Posted 26th November 2009 by Chris PhillipsA donkey-riding centre for children with special needs at Eccup in Leeds is hosting a special Candlelight Carol concert on Friday 11th December from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
The event will be attended by renowned Leeds-based choir Amici who will be performing traditional Christmas carols to help celebrate the season and raise funds for The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) Centre.

Posted 10th November 2009 by Suzi CretneyA donkey-riding centre for children with special needs and disabilities at Eccup in Leeds is launching an appeal for those looking for something a little different this Christmas. The Centre is inviting people to adopt a donkey as a gift for a friend or relative to help support its work.
The recipient of the Adopt a Donkey gift will be sent an adoption pack including details and a photo of their chosen donkey, together with a beautiful drawing, a Certificate of Adoption and they will receive a letter keeping them up-to-date with news about their adopted donkey after six months.
Great success at children and donkeys charity ball
Posted 6th October 2009 by Claire ShapcottA 10th anniversary charity ball, which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds on Saturday 26th September in aid of a donkey riding therapy charity for children with special needs, was a great success!
Lee Pearson CBE, winner of nine Gold Medals in Paralympic Dressage, and Patron of The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST), attended the event to help raise funds for its cause.
