Sidmouth adoption donkeys
By adopting one of our EST Sidmouth donkeys for one year, you will be helping toward the running costs of The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST), which provides riding therapy for children with special needs and disabilities.
How much does it cost?
The adoption fee is £16 per year and you will receive details of the donkey you decide to adopt, together with a beautiful drawing, an adoption certificate and a twice yearly report. A video and DVD of the donkey group is also available to buy.
Busby
Busby is proving to be a very popular donkey and is beginning to enjoy all the attention he gets from visitors, who often admire his lovely, velvety dark brown coat! He has even started coming to the fence to meet the children. He continues to be as popular as ever in the riding arena, and giving rides to the children with special needs is something he is now very proud of!
Daniel P
One of Daniel's visitors was quite concerned to see that he was pink all down one side. Happily, the staff found out what the problem was - he had found a salt-lick hanging on the fence and thought it was great for rubbing himself against! Or it could have been that he likes to try new disguises - he loved wearing a pirate hate when he was helping the children find treasures in the arena! Let's face it, Daniel just likes having fun!
Daniel P is a gentle giant who has a lovable, affectionate personality. He is really chilled out and likes nothing better than to give rides to children like Connie, who visits EST Sidmouth regularly and enjoys her riding therapy sessions with Daniel P.
Little Vijay
Little Vijay has learned some new tricks! He can use the obstacle course which the staff have set up just for the donkeys, so they can play in the arena as well as work in it. He is such a good donkey that lots of the children ask for him specially. Little Vijay really does work and play hard - and he loves both!
